Home / Our Plan / Low Cost With the Vermont Higher Education Investment Plan, there are no sales charges, start-up or maintenance fees. An annual asset-based management fee will be paid to TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing, Inc. (TFI) to cover the cost of investment management and administrative services. TFI is an affiliate of TIAA-CREF Individual & Institutional Services, LLC, the distributor for the Vermont Higher Education Investment Plan. This fee is computed at an annual rate of 0.80% (less than one percent) of the average daily net assets of the Vermont Higher Education Investment Plan. No other fees or charges will be applied to your account. See fee table and sample investment cost. Please note, however, that the State reserves the right to change the current fee and impose new or additional fees, expenses, charges, or penalties in the future. The Plan Web site contains information about the Managed Allocation Option, 100% Equity Option and the Interest Income Option. Investment management for the Managed Allocation and 100% Equity Options is provided by TFI while investment management of the Interest Income Option is provided by VSAC.
